There is a new*ish* venue in town and I am so excited to share a few behind the scene images with you!
Our friends, Shad and Valerie, have put so much work into their family farm for our community to enjoy and I look forward to capturing many memories here...whether it be of my own family when we go and visit for ice cream or photographing events and photo sessions of your family!
Stone View Farm is a family owned and operated property located in the quaint town of Darlington, MD. Their 109 acre farm includes a restored barn, pond, original 1837 stone house with smokehouse, an icehouse, and a fully functional spring house. When Valerie gave me my first impromptu tour, I could not wait to get back over there with my camera. The house is decorated so beautifully and offers so much natural light. The example photos I am sharing below were taken on a hot, semi-overcast day between 1 and 2pm to give you an idea of lighting. There are so many beautiful spaces to take the pre wedding getting ready photos and so many location opportunities around the property for the first look and formal portraits.
The property is available to reserve for small Weddings and Events during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months. They also have fields for pick your own blueberries, sunflowers, sweet corn and local produce in the Summer. A Pumpkin Patch, Hayrides, and Corn Maze in the Fall. Christmas trees, wreaths, greens, and holiday festivities starting in mid November 2022
There is a little country style store with sweet treats and farmhouse style decor. We love to shop local and this is definitely worth adding to your list to shop for your home or if you need a gift. The shop features several locally made products which makes it extra special.
