National Egg Day! | Maryland Family Photographer

Happy National Egg Day! 🥚🍳 | June 3, 2021

Yup, it's a thing and this year I am especially excited about it. We recently got a really special family hand-me-down. My Dad gave us this old egg scale that was used on my Grandfather's farm, Lohr's Orchard, in Joppatowne. At one time, he had about 5,000 chickens! 😳🐔🥚

It's been almost one year since we got our very first egg from our own flock! Pop George would be proud. Corey is one hell of a chicken farmer. 😆 The flock is strong and most eggs are in that L-XL range.

Currently, we have 16 Hens, 2 Roosters. and 2 Ducks. We average around 12+ chicken eggs and 1-2 duck eggs daily! Luckily, we all love eating eggs around here and since there is no way we could keep up with eating as many eggs as our ladies give us, our family and friends have gotten tons of fresh eggs this past year too. As always, if you ever need eggs, just let us know!

This year Paisley is all about feeding the chickens and it is super cute! She also looks forward to her scrambled eggs with cheese every morning. We have hard boiled eggs made up at all times and my next goal is to try some deviled egg & egg salad receipts. If you have a good one, please send it my way!

Sincerely, Jenn
